rant vent whatever fuck you

fuck me, I got to design a new primer cuz the last ones weren't working, and i'm a dumbshit and instead of writing down the formula i used a dumb little website to do it. it was easier! (dumbass) but now i got to use the website and its gone. some company bought some other company and redesigned the site and now my tm calculator is gone. web.archive.org/ doesn't work cuz the java thing or whatever was only partially on the page, somehow they actually had you send them your primer length or something? i dunno its gay. i mean lame. i mean fail. whatever fuck you
[edit: i've regretted making homophobic "jokes" on here for a while, but i'm gonna leave them: gotta live with my shame.  same for "retarded" below]

then after my website is gone, i go to order and ok so they've made us change how we order for some retarded reason. it's like 5 times more work and makes it impossible to do some things we did before, but the purchasing people are assholes so we have to whatever
anyway, the new way involves using a purchasing system called EPIC. which was never invovled before. and its gay. did i mention that? and now i go to order my primer and i get "epic is down each night from 8-9:30pm" what the fuck. eat shit assholes. take it down at 4am, what the shit kind of time to take it down is that? oh, it's probably something archaic like someone downloading the day's orders by hands the shit ass mother fuckers

is it 9:30 yet? almost. fuck shits.

Evidence, Peer Reviewed, Anecdote, Statistically Significant

hmmm, i guess i was gonna post about how people go too far in wanting evidence to support a claim. i was more worked up about it whenever i saved this title, but not worked up enough to post. and even less worked up now, so here is a non post. (actually posted 5-2-10, i guess i started it 4-10-10)

sustainability

al gore got us all on the sustainability train huh. that's cool, i bike commute, strive for efficiency, and hug trees. too bad "sustainability" actually mean "save the company money" in a lot of cases. not that i'm even opposed to increasing a corporation's profits. it's kindof irksome though that they use some popular moral imperative to cloak their less popular money driven interests, but that's not even really the problem. the problems are things like asking me
((blah blah why does writing in a box that supposedly someone might read make it harder to write? uh, duh, cuz someone might read it, it's not just to me now? whatever, skip into meta like that will fix anything))
here some snipits from a department e-mail:

-Close fume hood sashes when not in use (a huge amount of heated, or conditioned air gets sucked straight out of the building when sashes are left wide open).

cool- save the uni money, i supposed possibly reduce carbon footprint (is that fuel not going to be burned somewhere else instead? whatever, maybe it will find itself to someone with more need, ahahahaha ahahaha, shhh, optimism jonny) and the cost to me is not being a lazy fucker.

-Shut down energy intensive equipment when not in use (heat blocks and water baths; consider installing timers to automatically turn them off at night)

uh, well, maybe kindof like the fume hood one, but, going around and flipping switches might not seem like a big deal but as a later crew member I end up locking up a lot and it can take like a fair amount of effort already. and timers? hmmm, buying something to save money... i dunno...

-Do not use space heaters. If your office is too cold, put on a sweater or contact facilities to see if the temp can be adjusted in your office
-Use the stairs instead of the elevator (this is better for your body, too!).

ok, now fuck you guys. if you're gonna go all scrooge on us and say only one lump of coal a week for the office, don't call it environmentalism, that's pissing on us and telling us its raining. I personally would rather the building was closer to outdoor temps- biking in and coming inside to boiling hot in the winter and freezing in the summer is a pain. and i try to take the stairs more than use the elevator. but now i can't even

blah blah, hope you enjoyed my second enstallment of lamazoid blogging, join us next week for another blah blah fest

logging is depressing

they cut the spot we found a bunch of morels last year, guess there wasn't much reason to tread lightly or pack out our trash...

hrm, new blog eh, and of course immediately we start the meta dialogue... why am i posting on the internet, no one will read this and if they do they'll notice things about me i'm not really interested in sharing. but fuckit, it's here, lets post.

anyway so trees. i looked into it, and there was a bill introduced last year to make the so called back country areas of morgan monroe and yellowwood not get logged. House Bill No. 1550. but like, the areas were designated in the 80s as no logging, but they were gonna log them anyway? i know next to nothing about policy. anyway, the bill's gone, the logging's on.

living in bloomington i'm surrounded by people who like woods etc, and forget there are good reasons for logging around here. the state is going to maintain the woods, at least do the minimum to keep it from becoming a desert (or development). so unless the demand for wood goes away, industrializing morgan-monroe and yellowwood is maybe even a benefit for the environment if the alternative is

holy shit ok fuck this blogging thing oh god it made me gay, look, now i am gay, thanks a lot blogger [edit: i've regretted making homophobic "jokes" on here for a while, but i'm gonna leave them: gotta live with my shame]

whatever here are some pix i was building towards, cuz b-town is like an island of culture and diversity, but also in an oasis of semi-wilderness area in a desert of farmland and malls
